The white or black line, called a ribbon, was very measured and accurate, giving the impression that the building was built with very tight joints. Tuckpointing allowed the masons to build with speed and with tuckpointing, they would trick the eye into thinking the work was built with precision. This beautiful and fine craft was a very common sight during the last 2 decades of the 19th century or Victorian Era. Jason is skilled at just about any form of brickwork, but his true passion is reviving the lost art of English Tuckpointing. Today sadly Tuckpointing is considered a lost art. Jason is amongst a small group of craftsman that would like to change that. Tuckpointing and restoring the brickwork as it was intended is in fact the truest form of brick preservation for house from this era.
